We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us

Robyn Yong

April 1 2005:

Myself and eleven other strangers began our first day as deckhands, aboard Bluenose II. The tall ship that would occupy the next two years of my life. It's hard to overstate how impactful an experience like this is. The intimate relationships you form with crew. The skills you learn, not knowing how poignant they will be in your everyday life. And the exhilaration of shear adventure you find along the way. I often think back to my time spent aboard our sailing ambassador. And I always find myself smiling when I do.
